Description:

1st Printing. 276 pages. Published in 1969. Landmark collaborative book. One of Truman Capote's least well-known yet most important titles. The First Hardcover Edition. Precedes and should not be confused with all other subsequent editions. Published in a small and limited first print run as a hardcover original only. The First Edition is now scarce. The book is beautifully produced: Printed on thick, pristine-white, glossy stock paper in the United States to the highest standards. Presents "Trilogy: An Experiment In Multimedia". An unusual artistic collaboration between Truman Capote and the husband-and-wife filmmaking team of Frank and Eleanor Perry. Three of Capote's finest short stories were produced as separate TV films and later, as a single feature-length film. The original texts of the short stories followed by the film scripts enable the reader to see the transformation from the written original to the finished film version. The volume also comes with a lengthy, engaging, and illuminating Introduction by the film scholar, John M. Culkin. An absolute "must-have" title for Truman Capote collectors. This title is a late-modern classic. This is one of very few copies of the First Hardcover Edition/First Printing still available online and is in fine condition: Clean, crisp, and bright, a beauty. A scarce copy thus. Lavishly illustrated with black-and-white stills from the films. Truman Capote's "In Cold Blood" is widely regarded as one of the greatest books of the 20th century. One of the greatest writers of the 20th century. A fine copy. (SEE ALSO OTHER TRUMAN CAPOTE TITLES IN OUR CATALOG). Bookseller Inventory # 869
