Gauley Mount Press, VA. The story of Confederate Brigadier General John McCausland in the Civil War. He is remembered for the Rebel raid into Pennsylvania in which the town of Chambersburg was burned in retribution for Federal atrocities in the Shenandoah Valley. After this raid, a reward was placed on his head and McCausland had to leave the country at the end of the war until a pardon was granted. Before the war he taught with Stonewall Jackson at VMI, where McCausland graduated in 1857. Bitter to the last of his days, he was the next to last surviving Confederate general officer. Signed by the author. Very good copy of the first edition in a very good dust jacket. 400 pages. Bookseller Inventory # 4481
