Title: Two Hand-Colored Tintypes
Publisher: Wasson likely mid-1800s, Brooklyn
Publication Date: 1800
Book Condition: Fine
Two tintypes, sold together: a small portrait (44x53mm) of a woman, shown from about the waist up, and with hand-colored rosy cheeks; and a small portrait of a man, also with rosy cheeks, shown through an oval paper mount (32x45mm). Both are backed with a printed advertisement from the photographer (the woman's scuffed but legible, the man's in excellent condition). The advertisement reads: "Wasson's Ferrotypes, 73 Fulton Avenue, Near Lawrence Street, Brooklyn. Copying with Neatness and Despatch. Pictures finished in a few minutes, and satisfactions guaranteed to all. 6 for 25 cents." Both tintypes are in excellent condition -- nice and bright, and unscratched.
