470 pages. One of 1550 copies. Largely forgotten today, Merrick was an 'author's author,' who never achieved much popular success, but earned the admiration of fellow writers. Between 1918 and 1922, a group of prominent writers, H. G. Wells and J. M. Barrie among them, arranged for a 15-collected works to be published. 'Violet Moses,' the author's first novel, was not included. This 1927 edition, in a uniform format with the collected works, is its first publication in the United States.
