Original tan illustrated cloth showing a young girl with an ox on the front cover, white lettering on front cover and spine. 5 1/4 X 8 1/4.311 pages plus 4 pages of "books relating to the Northwest." Copy has 1 color frontispiece. Duniway (1834-1915) was an American women's rights advocate, newspaper editor and writer, whose efforts were instrumental in gaining voting rights for women. This copy is the fictionalized account of the authors own arduous 2,500 miles overland journey in a covered wagon to the Pacific Northwest in 1852. 4 small spots on the inside front cover of where a bookplate once was.
