Synopsis:
The great Italian patriot Alejandro Manzoni wrote what is considered as one of the big novels in his language, to show, mentioning his own words: "tragedies of horrors and scenes of evilness, with intervals of virtuous exploits". The greatest of the novel is its plot wealth, which has the Thirty Years War and the Spanish domination of Italy as a background, besides the interest that the incidents of the protagonists Renzo and Lucia: they can only marry after barely credible journeys. Only up to Pirandello's arrival there was in Italy an important comparable novelist, since this book join up a great groundwork to an anecdotal interest that is incomparable.
