Synopsis:
At the beginning of the 21st century, the Museum of Modern Art in Frankfurt has placed a room at the disposal of Bettina Rheims. Its purpose will be to record her inimitable style by means of a selection of her works. On this occasion a catalogue is being produced which combines important photographs from the exhibition with biographical information. Jean-Christopher Ammann, one of the most influential contributors to the discussion concerning contemporary art and since 1989 the Director of the Museum of Modern Art in Frankfurt, has produced a stimulating text to accompany the pictures. The text and biographical details attempt for the first time to arrive at an interpretation outside the works of the photographer.
