Photography has repeatedly engaged Cy Twombly (b. 1928) since the days of his studies at Black Mountain College, but it was not until recent decades, since about 1980, that this interest solidified into an independent, artistic concept. On the occasion of the artist's eightieth birthday in 2008, we present this volume of photographs from the years 1951 to 2007 - an aesthetic sensation celebrating an exceedingly vital "late work" full of surprises and breathtaking beauty.
