Douglas Adams

Douglas Adams (1952 - 2001), best known for his iconic sci-fi novel, The Hitchhicker's Guide to the Galaxy, was a passionate advocate for many causes and interests including the environment and animal welfare. He was an enthusiastic fan of cameras and fast cars as well. Adams' career got started on BBC television and was ultimately discovered by writers of Monty Python. His Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy began as a BBC radio comedy before becoming a five book "trilogy" that sold millions of copies.
