The best read man in England

Who’s the best read man in England? According to the Oxford Mail, it was the late Sir Basil Blackwell - the driving force behind the Blackwell’s chain of bookshops during much of the 20th century. Sir Basil, who died in 1984, began collecting in the 1920s but his extensive collection has now been donated to the Bodleian Libary’s Centre for the Study of the Book.
