Chef’s Library

If you think your cookbook collection is impressive — think again. Fritz Blank’s library of 10,000 cookbooks and other related materials has moved to the University of Pennsylvania.

It’s an amazing collection of items ranging from old handwritten receipes to signed menus.

I know this collection and it is even more amazing than you can imagine. The walls are filled with signed and personally autographed copies of celebrities and famous chef’s who are either friends of chef or who have found this to be a great restaurant. The book collection has been meticulously attended to over a number of years. Things can be found very easily becuase chef has a penchant for filing and records. The ephemera from jello box inserts to every copy of Gourmet magazine, et al to be published is stellar. When it all finally gets to Penn don’t miss seeing it. If you are a foodie this is heaven. After much research and comparing other library culinary collection I believe that Penn with the addition of Chef Fritz Blank’s collection will rank among the top in the country.
