Maltese Falcon stolen again

A plaster copy of the Maltese Falcon was stolen from its San Francisco home this past weekend.  The statue, which had been used in the production of the film, was taken from John’s Grill by persons unknown along with a stash of books, including one by Herb Caen and a signed Dashiell Hammett  that the restaurant owner kept in the same display case.  If you catch the crook who nabbed the bird, the owner of the joint will hand over $25,000 - no questions asked.
