Speed reading reviewers

The British media are mad that they didn’t get advance preview copies of Alistair Campbell’s diaries - The Blair Years, The Guardian blogs.

So some poor sods were forced to speed-read Campbell’s macho prose the moment the bookshops opened.

That would be my nightmare - having to read fast, not reading Campbell’s book. I’m a very slow reader and always fear that if I start skimming I will miss something vital.

    Hi Richard,

I’m really interested in what constitutes slow for you (indeed, I asked the readers of ReadySteadyBook this very question a good wee while back — http://www.readysteadybook.com/Blog.aspx?permalink=20070330125239).

I think of myself as a very slow reader too and get through about just 30 pages an hour.

    You?
