BookTour

The BookTour site launch earlier this summer - which hopes to help authors and audiences meet. Authors create a profile and put in their events and appearances, and then book lovers can search for an event (by book, author or location). It’s only for the US at the moment, but looks like it could be a good idea.

(side note: there must be a way to mash this LibraryThing - the tour schedules of my favourite books / authors show up on LT)

I think booktour.com has lots of potential, with the only obstacle to their success (that I can see) being all of the bugs on the site. I spent a few hours this past week adding many of Unbridled Books’ authors to the site and I ran into lots of problems. Fortunately, I don’t give up very easily, but I was surprised that a site that’s been around since last year would still be in such an unfinished state. That said, they’re very receptive to suggestions (let’s hope they’ll pick up on the LT idea) and quick to help when there’s a problem!

    booktour.com?
It could be a refreshing rain on the dry land of authors who are trying to flower…
Think of us in Canada; and while you’re at it read: Power of the Zila by M.Meyer Horne, a novel: fiction based on facts; an odessey along dry lands, and the ancient war paths of Chaka Zulu, where New South Africa celebrates the feminine.(Trafford Publishing)
