If you were listening to NPR’s Morning Edition today you would have learnt about Tahmima Anam and her novel, A Golden Age, which concerns Bangladesh and its war for independence from Pakistan. The NPR site has an extract from the highly-touted book. I wonder if it’s remotely like The Inheritance of Loss by Kiran Desai - a highly touted novel set admist an independence campaign in a Northern area of India?
