I’ve just finished The Gargoyle by Andrew Davidson. I’ll be interviewing Andrew next week and it will be interesting to hear what this Winnipeg-based author has to say. After all, The Gargoyle is the most hyped debut novel of the year. It is certainly a pageturner with an interesting plot intertwined within a love story. Basically, a porno star gets burnt to a crisp in a horror car accident and meets a crazy gargoyle sculptor who claims she knew him during her earlier life as a medieval nun in Germany. Bibiliophiles will be drawn to all the bookish themes within the novel ranging from Dante’s Inferno to handwritten versions of the bible.
I’m sure the book is going to sell.
