Cambridge University’s new librarian

Cambridge University has appointed its first female librarian in its 650-year history, reports the Daily Telegraph.

Cambridge’s library has more than 100 miles of shelving, which extends by a further two miles each year to cope with extra books. Its revered status means it has been entitled to a free copy of every book, journal, map and music score published in the UK since it was granted depository status in 1710.
