Henry and the Kite Dragon
Me and the kids go to the library every two weeks or so and stock up on books for bedtime reading. The pick of the latest crop was Henry and the Kite Dragon. How many children’s picture books tackle the issue of Chinese kids and Italian kids scrapping on the streets of 1920s New York? I read this book aloud with much fascination. Where was it going I asked myself. It’s amazing how kids just listen without judgement – while my mind is racing with whether a six-year-old can understand why races don’t always get on.
