Hunter S Thompson’s suicide note

Hunter S. Thompson killed himself on 20 February 2005. Doesn’t seem like four years ago. Paste magazine reveals his suicide note.

“No More Games. No More Bombs. No More Walking. No More Fun. No More Swimming. 67. That is 17 years past 50. 17 more than I needed or wanted. Boring. I am always bitchy. No Fun — for anybody. 67. You are getting Greedy. Act your old age. Relax — This won’t hurt.”

At the top of the note, “Football Season Is Over” had been scribbled in black - it had been three weeks since the conclusion of the Super Bowl.

So sad. I just can’t imagine ever being unhappy enough to really quit life. I’m already someone who goes to bed too late because I worry I’ll miss something. What if someone writes the best book ever RIGHT after I die, and I never get to read it?

A strange note. Seems almost more like a pep talk for himself. Poor guy.

Hunter sure was a great guy, and a fantastic writer. I’m sure his best friend Johnny Depp misses him a lot - as they were best friends, and Depp did a great job bringing Hunter’s book “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas” to the big screen.

I hope Hunter’s found the peace of mind in death that he couldn’t find in life.

He was working on a story on 911, and had found proof that the towers were brought down by explosives. He was going to publish this. The day after he “committed suicide” whilst on the phone to his wife. It was not a suicide, it was an assassination.
