Holy Grail for Stephen King collectors
Imagine a Stephen King book that costs just over $90,000. Then try to grasp the fact that around $85,000 of that total is accounted for by the dust jacket alone. We’re talking about the ‘Holy Grail’ for collectors of King books – a true first edition of Salem’s Lot from 1975, the author’s second book.
After altering the book’s title from Jerusalem’s Lot, Doubleday made a last-second revision, altering the price from $8.95 to $7.95. Only four copies featuring the original price were printed and one of them is now for sale on AbeBooks.
