Bestselling signed books of 2010
Freedom by Jonathan Franzen was the bestselling signed book of 2010 although The Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet by David Mitchell was not far behind. Both novels were acclaimed by the literary critics with Franzen also receiving a hefty plug from Oprah Winfrey – his former nemesis. Peter Carey, Ian McEwan, Philip Pullman, Joe Hill and Bret Easton Ellis were also on our list.
The bestselling non-fiction book was Just Kids by former rocker Patti Smith, which also won a National Book Award in November. Signed copies of The Man Who Loved Books Too Much by Allison Hoover Bartlett also continued to sell and sell – it’s a wonderful story of rare book theft and detective work.
