Early history of Canada to be auctioned
A very rare 1612 copy of a book described as “the first written history of Canada” is to be auctioned in London tomorrow. French poet and adventurer Marc Lescarbot published an account of his life in the colony (then called New France) that also included some of the first maps of eastern Canada. Histoire de la Nouvelle France was first published in 1609.
