Ku Klux Klan adversary Stetson Kennedy dies at 94
The man who took on the Ku Klux Klan by going undercover and infiltrating the organization has died. Stetson Kennedy died on Saturday at 94. He used radio and books to expose the Klan’s work. He published I Rode with the Ku Klux Klan in 1954. The book has also been titled The Klan Unmasked and The Jim Crow Guide.
Kennedy, who was accused of exaggeration and embellishment right up until a few years ago, infiltrated the Klan by using the name of a dead uncle who had been a member.
