Should vampires sparkle?

Anne Rice is a lovely lady. If you met her down the library, she’d have a lot of interesting things to say. Anne, on her Facebook page, says the sparkly vampires from the Twilight series of books are rubbish. And now there’s a decent row about whose vampires are the best.

I associate sparkly things with Barbie, and Barbie, although she’s now a modern girl and very enlightened, would always lose to a real vampire in a fight.
