Acquitted Seattle Woman Amanda Knox Gets Book Deal
The CBC reports that Seattle woman Amanda Knox has landed a book deal with HarperCollins. The exchange student was detained for four years after being charged with the murder of her roommate in Italy, and was then acquitted in October 2011.
It was a complicated case, and both her detention and eventual acquittal was among the more polarizing cases the public eye has seen in recent years. So much outrage, disbelief, speculation and criticism flew from all sides. I’m interested to see how the news of her book deal will be received, and about the book itself, for which Knox will receive nearly $4 million, and which is tentatively scheduled to be released in early 2013.
