London Olympics needs poets

It’s exactly 100 days until the opening of the London Olympics and the event needs poets, according to the BBC. They are short of 20 poets for a cultural event featuring a poet from every nation competing in the 2012 Olympics. Apparently, they still need poets from places like Mali and Liberia. I suspect Mali’s poets might have something else to worry about after several months of violence, uprising and turmoil. Jo Shapcott will represent Great Britain and Ireland’s Seamus Heaney is also going to be there.

  1. Ola! Abebooks,
This question may be a little off-topic, While the city of London has always opened its doors to visitors, the 2012 Summer Olympics will be an excellent mechanism to invite even more people from even farther places around the world. Have you ever considered the country of England being a good destination for vacation? At this time, it is a very good opportunity for everyone because you will be able to look at the famous places in the UK while also attending a great event.
