Wonkaphiles Rejoice – Lickable Wallpaper is Real!
Albeit kind of gross, the lickable wallpaper from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory that ignited our tiny childhood imaginations (and tastebuds) is at last real. Or, close to it, anyway. If you don’t know what a Jaffa cake is, you’re missing out. They’re an English confection – delicious, cake-like cookies, orange scented with orange jelly and coated in chocolate. Like the flavor of a Terry’s chocolate orange, but in lovely, spongecake-like cookie form. Mm. Sorry. Anyway, the cackling evil geniuses at a communications firm in London called Engine created lickable, nibble-abble wallpaper with over 1,300 Jaffa cakes on it, to relieve stress and create a sense of fun – and prevent starvation in case of elevator breakdown. Those of you who just turned green around the gills at the idea of all that spit-sharing need not fear – there is a polite bellboy installed in the elevator who gamely removes each drooly Jaffa-cake, once licked. I hope he’s well paid.
No word yet on whether the three-course-meal chewing gum is available yet, but hope springs eternal here in Happyland.
