Penguin Classics the forgotten grey covers

Aftermath by Francesca M. WilsonLike most bibliophiles we love the classic penguin dust jackets; it’s a topic we have discussed at length here at AbeBooks. We have written a site feature talking about them, and we also shot a video describing the colors of the Penguin rainbow.

At the time of writing the site feature, we were unable to find good images of the scarce grey Penguin covers, which were reserved for books on world affairs. But as luck would have it, we have one to show you now.  I was having a conversation with Shane Taylor of Tarrington Books about Penguin covers and he was able to point me in the right direction.  So here you go: the elusive grey Penguin!

Tarrington Books has a fantastic selection of Penguins, among other gems, and Shane is very knowledgeable. So if you happen to have any questions on the topic, or are looking to add to your collection, I would definitely recommend him.
