Victoria Times-Colonist Book Sale Dates 2010

Thank goodness! For a while there it looked as though the annual Victoria Times-Colonist Book Sale might be in jeopardy this year – the event requires a large space available for four weeks (with donations, sorting, set up, clean up, and tear down it really takes that long), and previous locations weren’t available this year for whatever reason. Hence the sale occurring later than usual this year. But the Victoria Curling Club saved the day. Please note that as it is a smaller space than the venue used in the last few years, organizers are asking donors to be a little bit discerning – textbooks, magazines, Readers’ Digest, encyclopedias, and anything not in decent shape are not on the desired list this year, so the space can fit as many quality reads into it as possible.

Here are the details for the sale this year.

To donate your books:
Books can be dropped off in the parking lot of the curling club on the weekend of May 1-2.

To attend the sale:
The sale will take place at the Victoria Curling Club
1952 Quadra Street
May 15th and 16th

Thrid in the Barrytown series

Maybe it’s a little silly but I think it’s fun that we’re having an Irish bookshop sale in time for St. Patrick’s day. Until the 31st of March all books from Kenny’s Bookshop are 25% off, which is a heck of a deal when you notice that Kennys Bookshop offers free shipping world wide.
