From the introduction: Nayachar Island an emerging land mass in a dynamic estuary, is formed of transported deposits. It is expected that in the course of development the predominant characteristics of the island soil were those inherited from the parent material. Mangroves are a group of typical topical and specialized trees growing in the saline and brackish water system.
