This is a First Edition hardcover book with 212 pages including many photos. The binding is strong with all pages firmly attached. There is a dedication written on the top of the first end paper. The pages are otherwise clean with no soiling or tears. The copyright page states 1968 First Edition with no other dates or printings shown. The dust jacket shows some light edgewear (No Chips). I have placed the DJ in a fresh mylar jacket and this old book looks and feels great! We always ship in a sturdy cardboard box!.

Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. Henry Aaron began his professional baseball career as age 17 as a shortstop for the Indianapolis Clowns, one of the last Negro League teams still playing. Two years later, along with Felix Mantilla and Horace Garner, Aaron helped to integrated the Sally League playing for Jacksonville. Then tremendous success with Milwaukee between 1956 and 1960. Furmer Bisher was the Sports Editor of the Atlanta Journal and was very influential in Atlanta luring the Braves to move there. First Edition stated, these are really hard to find, usually you only find the later Revised Editions. Both The Dust Jacket (in a mylar protector) and the book are in very good condition. I have more than 200 publications on the Negro Leagues and Black Sports, over 120 items on the Hall of Fame and its members and about 200 books written by and about sportswriters in stock.
