No Binding. Condition: Collectible-Very Good. circa.1959. An original publicity photograph (8 1/8 x 10 1/8 inch). Inscription mid-way up the left side of the photo "To Dorothy de Faria with sincere appreciation & best wishes Mario Braggiotti." Image of Braggiotti posed seated looking forward with his arm tucked under his chin. Lower right hand code 'NY4262'. Mario Braggiotti (1905-1996) was an American pianist, composer and raconteur raised in New England, though born in Italy. He studied in Paris under Alfred Cortot & Isider Philippe before meeting George Gershwin to whom he became a friend and mentor. With Jacques Fray forming a duo he traveled Europe introducing 'Rhapsody in blue' which became Braggiotti's signature piece. During the 1930s he toured the United States with Fray and appeared on CBS radio mixing classical and modern music. After the war he did a solo act and was a member of the 'Big Band Hall of Fame'. Very good clean copy of the photograph with inscription. Signed by Author(s).
