Full Leather. Condition: Good. No Jacket. Second Edition. 692pp. + two folding maps. Bound in crushed morocco woth lettering and rule stamped in gilt, all edges gilt. Illustrated. Bookplate of F.A. Blaydes on the front pastedown. Ownership inscription indicates that the book was gifted to Charles A. Briggs from Hon. John Wanamaker, the famous Philadelphia merchant and infamous US Postmaster General in 1906. In 1911 Briggs is recorded at being at a special breakfast held in honor of Wanamaker. Front joint mostly split but the front board is still intact. Corners rubbed through. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

A late 19th century treatment of the life of Saint Paul, based on his letters and, "narratives in the Acts of the Apostles." A heavy tome to sink one's mental teeth into.
