Hard cover dust wrapper, octavo, lviipp/579pp. Some rubbing to dust wrapper and a little wear to edges of same; a very good copy. Documents record (through the eyes of Bruce, Australian High Commissioner in London) the catastrophic collapse of the Allied position in Europe leading up to the fall of France and the prospect of imminent German invasion of the UK. The fall of France forced Australia to reassess almost all aspects of her foreign policy and in particular come to terms with the growing threat from Japan.
