Notes and marks present to the margins of the text. Binding tight and solid. Pangai village is on Pangaimotu island across Neiafu Harbour. Pangai Village in Tonga is the only Tongan village ethnography published in English. The monograph is historically valuable by virtue of describing pre-war Tongan society, which has changed considerably over the past 45 years. Ernest Beaglehole kept a journal during the field trip to northern Tonga nad the journal has recently been located in Wellington, New Zealand. EB; 9.5 X 5.9 X 0.7 inches.
