8vo. 114 ff. Lithographed throughout with numerous illustrations in the text. Contemporary calf with blindstamped cover fillets and central ornament. Lithographic edition. Fuzuli's treatment of the popular tale of Leyla and Majnun (Qais), the "Romeo and Julia" of Persian literature, is the author's best-known work and a classic of Turkish poetry. - The scribe identifies himself at the end as "'Askar ibn Husayn Bik"; his origin in the West Persian/Azerbaijan area suggests Tabriz as possible place of printing. - Binding slightly loosened near beginning; spine-ends damaged.
