Wraps. Condition: Orig. paper, disbound. Fair. 16 pages. Full Sermon by Eliphalet Gillet, Pastor of The First Church in Hallowell. In 1820 Maine seceded from Massachusetts and became a state. A thriving town in the early 1800's, with industries including logging, trading, publishing, and shipbuilding. Later, the area would employ over a thousand people in the ice industry; frozen blocks loaded onto Hallowell's schooners traveled as far as Cuba. Disbound and toned, but in fairly good shape.
