Old vellum, manuscript spine and upper board; 8vo (150 x 165 mm); pp. 189, with woodcut portrait of the author on title-p., numerous in-text illustrations showing hands with varying palm lines and Greco-Roman deities associated with palmistry, physiognomic contrasts in pairs of faces, and astrological diagrams. Vellum a little soiled; front hinge cracked (holding just fine, with cords intact); contents evenly tanned. Indagine was pastor of Steynheym and deacon of St. Leonhart in Frankfurt.
