Black cloth with bright gilt stamped spine lettering. Past owner's six-line ink gift inscription from sister dated December 1973 and noting her attendance at a Jim Irwin speech. Co-author Irwin's five-line ink inscription "To Herbert | my Very Best Wishes | for Your Life in Him | Jim Irwin | High Flight" on half-title page. Some rippling to bottom quarters of rear leaves particularly to concluding b/w plate section; text leaves otherwise remain clean. Binding retains some crispness. One of only twelve humans to have walked on the Moon, U.S. Air Force Colonel James Benson Irwin (1930-1991) was a member of Apollo 15 along with fellow astronauts Al Worden and Dave Scott.
