Owner's stamp on front fly, foxing on page edges, faint dampstain near bottom edges of boards and spine, still a very good copy lacking the dustwrapper. The author was a sport's reporter in Hawaii during the attack on Pearl Harbor and then becoming a war correspondent. This is the story of his time spent on the Astoria which was sunk in the Battle of Savo Island just off Guadalcanal. A very uncommon title.
