Flint, (1780-1840), born in Massachusetts, was a missionary and a writer. He graduated from Harvard in 1800 and from 1802-1814 was a minister in the parish of Lunenburg in his home state. Afterward, under the auspices of the Missionary Society of Connecticut he ministered in Cincinnati, Missouri, Arkansas, and New Orleans. He was a prolific writer of fiction and non-fiction, and published numerous translations and articles; and, in 1831 edited THE PERSONAL NARRATIVE OF JAMES O. PATTIE OF KENTUCKY, a landmark piece of Americana. Coleman 501. Relates extensively to Kentucky.
