First Edition
First Edition. THE NON-COMBATANT & A SHORT SONG INSIDE, Apple, no date but 1967, first edition, a near fine copy of this booklet (one page folded to make 4) which contains these two poems, the first by Matthews on page 2 and the second by Stokes on page 3 with a plea for more subscribers and a form to fill out and return to become one on page 4 (all unnumbered of course). The front cover depicts two apples and has text which reads TWO FROM APPLE. These poems appeared earlier in the 2 previous issues of this little magazine in 1967, however, it may be argued that if this publication constitutes a book, then this is perhaps the first book for each of these two poets. Or at least, perhaps their first separate publications. Kinda---- Rare.
