Large 8vo; in the publisher's green cloth; 499 pages; with the beginnings of separation at the rear gutter; binding is shaken with the front gutter cracked to the webbing; there is shelfwear; there is a stain from ink near the bottom of the textblock and the spine has dark spots at the bottom.~~Writing in the Nevins bibliography, Bud Robertson calls this "one of the most noted of early brigade histories". Harwell concurs, claiming this work to be "Onr of the best and best known of the brigade histories". ~~This is not a pretty 1st edition copy of an important book.
