SIGNED and INSCRIBED by Mesta on the front free endpaper: "For Ray Parker With my best wishes and good luck. Perle Mesta." Uncommon signed. Mesta was an influential American socialite, whose Washington, DC parties were an important venue for political elbow-rubbing. She served as Ambassador to Luxembourg from 1949-1953.
