Contents include chapters on: pride, drunkenness, gaming, honor, swearing, giving advice and incessant talking etc. Needless to say that the text is very clean condition although the cover has suffered due to age. Both front and back covers are present and just holding with the help of some old sellotape at the hinges. Both boards are very worn and chipped. The spine is very brittle and chipped with small pieces of leather missing. The cover is in poor condition. There are a three former owners writing. John Potter his book May 12th 1802 who was born in 1791, September 9th, as stated on the last back flyleaf. (Two Potters come up, one born in Lancashire the other in Wiltshire) Another former owner is Clarice Scott Hewett of Essex. Written in biro, so much more recent. Size 10 x 6.5cm, depth 5cm (4 x 2.5 inches, depth 1.75 inches).
