Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Angelo, Valenti (illustrator). Previously published as Eastern Shame Girl. Some discoloration on end pages. Boards edgeworn, scuffed at ends of spine. Square, sturdy. DJ has large tears, small pieces out along edges and on spine.

The text is illustrated with black and white drawings by Valenti Angelo. 1/4 cream-coloured textured cloth covered back strip with gilt coloured illustration and decoration to the back strip, along with a red inserts, and within those inserts gilt coloured titles. 3/4 blue coloured textured cloth covered boards with gilt and red coloured illustration to the front panel. First published under the title "Eastern Shame Girl". Culled from Chinese literature in 17th-century, a series of erotic tales. Softening, rubbing and some fraying of the back strip edges with darkening and flecking of the back strip. Bumping, rubbing and fraying of the book corners with underlying board visible. The cloth of the front edge of the board has become quite rough and thin. The book panels have become stained, flecked and rubbed  please see photograph. Tanning of the text block edges along with some stains. First edition of the work in this format and binding, and/or set or series. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. [10], 11 - 161, [1] pages.
