Condition: Very Good. 495 pages. Hardcover. Copyright 1866. B/w illustrations throughout. Patterned boards with half leather trims. Some moisture damage to first couple preliminary pages. Gilt title with raised bands on spine. Binding tight, no pages missing & tender first signature. Spine straight. Pages and edges have tanning from age, but clean and unmarked. This book was published at the end of the American Civil War. The stories told within are with a fresh perspective of the time, some told for the first time. Beautiful marbled endpapers. Record # 31905.

Wear at the spine extremities and corners; and some shelfwear along the bottom edges. Some soil/staining to the cloth. Spine a bit sun, and the spine gilt quite faded. The rear hinge is just starting. Age-toning / foxing to the endpapers and page edges. Previous owners name pencilled on the front flyleaf. The first several pages are quite foxed. Else the pages are fairly clean, with only minor foxing scattered. ; 26B.
