Hardcover. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Good. 1st Edition. Hardcover with dust jacket, published by Garden City. First published in 1884, this is the 1941 reprint edition. Collection of 350 poems, the focus being poems that are appropriate for children, also includes four full page color plates of Maxfield Parrish illustrations. This copy is a library discard. The dust jacket is intact, it has been covered with a clear protective cover. Jacket has chips to the tips of the corners and to the head and heel of the spine panel, and a library label on the bottom portion of the spine panel. As a library copy, the dust jacket has been taped to the cover boards, both front and back. Boards are flat, minor edge wear. As a library discard there is a library barcode label on the first flyleaf about 3/4" X 1-1/2", also a library due date page that has been partially removed, about 5" X 4" - see photos. At the back of the book is an area of age tanning in the spine gutter, and a small hand written library filing number. All of the Parrish illustrations are intact. Binding is tight. Brick red colored top-stain is somewhat faded. Age tanning to the edges of the text block. In good overall condition considering its use as a library copy. Attached photos are of the copy we have in our inventory.
