No Binding. Condition: Fine. Original publisher's brochure printed in black ink on light beige paper. No date, circa 1930s. 3 1/2" x 6 1/4." One leaf of paper folded in half and printed on all four sides. Brochure is virtually pristine and intact except for light age toning and minuscule wear to extremities. A Fine copy. This is a unique promotional brochure asking for information that may become a part of a proposed bibliography of private and public collectors' presses. The proposal was spearheaded by three editors, Will Ransom, Irvin Haas, and Louise Farrow Barr. Ransom's previously published book, Private Presses and Their Books (1929) is named as a starting point to this new idea for a more comprehensive bibliography of smaller presses. The leaflet briefly discusses Ransom, Haas, and Barr's concept for the upcoming bibliography and encourages the general public to contribute their own information or ideas about correcting published bibliographies on the subject, reports of new or unrecorded presses, larger or commercial presses that are still of interest to collectors, dates and locations of publications, prospectuses, and how to best organize relevant records on the subject. Contact information for Ransom, Haas, and Barr are included on the third panel.
