Charles Heath, Finden, Stothard, Brockenden, etc. (illustrator). 1st Edition. 51 steel engraved plates with 51 pages each with a synopsis of the story depicted, all concerning the works of Sir Walter Scott, the plates with tissue guards, bound in a full crimson crushed morocco with tooled embossed gilt borders, gilt embossed spine with 5 raised bands and titles on spine. all edges gilt. A little light damp marks to a few page edges at out side edge and a little rubbing of boards at corners and spine, but again light. Small octavo. *Person inscription on endpaper dated as 1867, but the publisher was more prolific in the 1820's -30's, so possibly a lot earlier than the inscription states? No other copy of this located at time of listing. Scarce pre-publicity publishers anomaly.
